Unlock Your Child’s Full Reading Potential with One-on-One Tutoring

Having been an educator for over two decades, I’ve seen the most accomplished and intelligent children struggle with various, complicated reading issues. As an avid reader, I’ve always known how reading can expand your world and give you access to any information you may seek. It wasn’t until I became a teacher did I understand how debilitating it is for someone who is struggling to read. After several years of teaching, I was inspired to return to graduate school to specialize in helping young readers and writers. I not only wanted to gain the gift of teaching reading to struggling readers but I also knew I wanted to instill a life-long joy of reading and learning.

Many children have difficulties learning to read at the same pace as their peers. There is no one size fits all reading curriculum that will guarantee that your child will learn to read easily. As a parent myself, I know how difficult it is to witness your child try to overcome obstacles in his or her way. Learning to read and to read well is possible for your child. Sometimes it just takes a little more than what is offered inside the classroom.

I am a certified Reading Specialist and Reading Recovery teacher. I have over 22 years in the classroom and 14 years working as a Reading Specialist. I currently offer private reading instruction to students in the San Diego area on weekends and weekdays during the summer. Please feel free to contact me for future tutoring opportunities; I expect to have space for a few clients during the fall.
